On very short notice we needed help for my 90 year old mother-in-law when she returned to her assisted living facility after spending a month in rehab for a broken arm. Her assisted facility insisted she have 24 hour attendants till they were satisfied she had readjusted and could use her walker safely (which ended up taking another month). Assisting Hands responded very quickly on a weekend and got aides lined up for her with only four days notice. Both Assisting Hands administrative staff and aides were all very professional and even more importantly friendly and kind, I think just helpful by nature. My mother-in-law can very fretful and fussy (her dentist actually refuses to see her anymore), but the folks at Assisting Hands were understanding and very patient with her. I would recommend them to anyone, and will use them again if the occasion ever arises again (hopefully not, but you never know).

When looking for someone to offer support and care for those you love, you cannot be too careful in selecting the most trustworthy and professional company available. Assisting Hands is that company. I am so very pleased with the care my husband has been receiving from his caregiver Kristen at Assisting Hands in Wilmington. She has cared for him for two and a half years, 5 days a week. Her concern and care for my husband is amazing and she is a joy to have in our home. Kristen is very knowledgeable and capable in dealing with all the issues that arise with a person with dementia. Her wonderful personality keeps him smiling, happy and cooperative. I have great confidence in her ability and am thankful that, with her help, I am able to keep my husband at home.

My wife and I are 79, and we have had Arlene caring for us, 5 days a week for about 10 months. We are delighted with her care - she is a "self starter" who helps us manage our house and our various infirmities. We would also like to mention that Arlene has extensive experience as a CNA, is a wonderful cook, and a very pleasant person to have in our home. We are also grateful that Assisting Hands Wilmington employs a wonderful RN, Peggy, as a "standby" to help with medications and other functions if/when required. They make an excellent team!

Highly recommend this service. From the very beginning, John and his team were very compassionate, professional and genuine in helping us with a solution. We encountered a few hurdles with the State of MA but John resolved it promptly. Now that the PCA program is in place with 2 visits per day, my sister is enjoying independent living at home.
